People in certain areas of the world go about their lives not thinking about the war and destruction that goes outside of their living space. "A History of Bombing" tells us of the authors that have imagined our world in the future telling stories of the possibilities that may come with the invention and improvement of the bomb. One such story, told by the supposed future President of the United States (132) captivates the moment where one final war causes humanity to subdue under one reign or use the last atomic weapon that will render humanity obsolete. This is one of the many paths that our life may take if we were to live alongside WMDs.
After the first uses of
an atomic weapon, the cold war threatened to extend the use of atomic
weapons throughout the world. We would like to believe that the fall
of a superpower and the placement of laws that prohibit the use of
such weapons would keep us from actually using WMDs. But every now
and then comes a person that dares to defy the law and believes
themselves to be able to use advanced technologies to their
advantage. How long until the good people of the world must face a
radical who seeks destruction for their vision of the world? We have
already seen such people who had the potential to rise and change the
world. With newer technologies at our disposal, there is nothing
saying that history will not repeat itself again.
